Russian Doll Season 3 Release Date Speculation
Leslye Headland, a co-creator of Russian Doll, discloses the third season’s situation. The creator claims that she hasn’t “heard anything about it from Netflix.” Headland continued by speculating that Lyonne’s participation in Peacock’s Poker Face might be connected to Russian Doll’s interruption. Headland’s official statement reads, “I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything. I don’t know if it’s because Natasha [Lyonne]’s doing ‘Poker Face’ now. I don’t know if it’s gonna become a schedule thing, but I haven’t heard anything from Netflix about it.”
Lyonne told sources in April 2022, following the premiere of the second season, that they still have ideas for Russian Doll to explore in further episodes. Lyonne hinted that a third season would premiere in the future during her October 2023 visit on THR’s Awards Chatter podcast. “However, I believe it will require some time,” she continued.
“I believe that our industry is going through a chaotic period right now. My current top priority, I believe, is directing a film. More important to me than Russian Doll’s third season.” Lyonne goes on, “I believe that we’re currently following the Poker Face (Peacock series) track as well.”
The second season’s conclusion can act as a starting point for the third. However, it is by no means definite. We can’t completely rule out the potential of Russian Doll Season 3 in light of everything.
What To Expect From Russian Doll Season 3?
The initial season of Russian Doll was a high-profile show with an excellent lead performance by Lyonne and supporting performances from Bartnett and Greta Lee. The show was both an emotional character study and an intriguing mystery box. However, when it returned in season 2, it took creative swings that didn’t always resonate with viewers. Despite this, the performances were still excellent and the seven episodes had high points.
The show’s return at a busy TV time, with dramas and comedies competing for Emmys, led to an under-examination of the show. The cast reuniting in season 3 could provide more story to tell, but Lyonne remains committed to Nadia’s life.

It doesn’t appear likely, though, that Elizabeth Ashley will reprise her role as Ruth Brenner in season 3. Considering that the remaining members of the cast have all passed away in the series, it is less likely that they will return. We might get to see them through flashbacks.
