Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week Andrew Wagner placed 4th at Saturday’s Massachusetts State Coaches Meet in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.00, the 9th best time in the state and 2nd fastest in school history.

Two players from Grand Canyon University in Arizona are expected to join the Plymouth Pilgrims this summer. Tyler Wyatt of Peoria, Arizona posted a .239 average with seven doubles, two triples and 22 RBI at the plate and also pitched 10 games posting a 2-5 record, a 5.58 ERA and 37 K’s. The big right-hander also spent time with the Matsu Miners of Alaska Summer Baseball League where his duel skills were on display yet again. The Plymouth Pilgrims have added a pair of infielders to their roster for the 2017 season, according to a press release from the team. Patrick Dorrian from Lynn University was drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of high school in 2014, but opted to attend Herkimer College before transferring to Lynn. Cam McPhee has had an outstanding week for the Plymouth South boy’s hockey team, earning him Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week honors.
Cam earned a shutout in back-to-back games against Bishop Stang and last year’s division 3 state champions, Hanover. Hanover was previously undefeated coming into this game as well. He made 62 saves over the two games and his current shutout streak stands at just over 90 minutes of play. Continue Reading →

Two players from Tulane University have joined the Plymouth Pilgrims, according to a press release from the team. Pitcher Jack Hogan finished last season with a 4-1 record and a 1.58 ERA. Michael Whyte is this week’s Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week. Mike, who is currently ranked 5th in the state, competes in the 152 pound weight class on the wrestling team and has a record of 15-1. Kendra works extremely hard and gives maximum effort at all times. She has been one of the most valuable athletes on the girls track team and is willing to do whatever the team needs to be successful.

Plymouth South High School student Drew Mahoney and Coach Meg Slattery attended the Inaugural Cross Country Recognition Breakfast at the MIAA office in Franklin. They represented PSHS and the Patriot League where out of over 4,000 students, only 58 were chosen to receive this award. Golfer Shane Richardson is Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week. Shane beat his opponent on Monday by 2 strokes in a win over Middleborough. He also beat his opponent by 6 in the win over Carver and again, he beat his opponent by 2 playing in the number one spot for a win over Scituate. Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week Peter Duncan had a remarkable 48 hours. Thursday night he scored four goals in a 5-0 victory. Plymouth South Female Athlete of the Week Milena Manic, a freshmen starter for the varsity volleyball team, has been an important player for the program. Milena is a very consistent server, and one of the best hitters and defenders in the program, leading the team in blocks and kills. Devin Leahy put the offense on his back in a 32-21 loss at Scituate. On the ground, Devin rushed for 168 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown. David Trombly has had a great start of the season for the boys cross country team, which makes him the Plymouth South High School Male Athlete of the Week. David has put in a lot of work over the summer to make sure that he is one of the top runners on the team. Despite having some early health issues, David continued to come to practice and work hard. Placing fourth for South against Duxbury was David’s first time placing in the top five. His hard work and dedication are the main reasons for David’s early success. Continue Reading →
