Xiaomi today presented its new line of connected products for the home, including a new model of advanced router with which it intends to improve the wireless and wired connectivity of our homes.

This is the Mi Router AX9000, a device which, due to its external shape, looks more like a spaceship than a router, but which promises to integrate the latest WiFi 6 connections with speeds of up to 8 354 Mbps.

Under its striking 270 x 270 x 174mm casing we find a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor plus a dual-core NPU, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM memory, which are responsible for handling the three frequency bands of the router. , offering connections of 1,148 Mbps in 2.4 GHz plus a band of 2,402 Mbps in 5 GHz and another 4,804 Mbps in a second band also in 5 GHz.

Its 12 antennas have two integrated amplifiers in a 4×4 MU-MIMO configuration, to improve coverage in large homes, being able to work with up to 512 devices simultaneously.

It supports the most popular encryption systems such as WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK / WP3-SAE, has a configurable color LED and is well served by ports since it offers us 4 Gigabit Ethernet type (3 LAN plus a WAN to connect to the operator’s modem) plus another 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, as well as a USB 3.0 to connect disks and network devices.

Pricing and availability

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi Router AX9000 will be available in Spain “soon” at a date yet to be confirmed and for a price of 299.99 euros.
