# The protests in Cuba last Sunday were historic; Islanders suffer from the economic and health crisis

*) What is happening in Cuba? That’s what it’s all about in this episode of the 15 Minutes podcast.

Last Sunday, the Caribbean island experienced a day unprecedented in decades. Thousands of Cubans took to the streets for big demonstrations, spontaneously.

In response, the Communist regime arrested protesters. In addition, the Internet service for mobile phones has been cut, which of course makes it difficult to circulate information on the situation of the demonstrations, especially inside the country.

What is the context that led to the protests in Cuba and how is the communist regime’s response? These are the themes of this 15 Minutes episode. The guest is Isabella Mayer de Moura, editor-in-chief of Mundo da Gazeta do Povo.
