LG Electronics has announced plans to renew, expand and expand its free TV channel service for owners of one of its smart TVs called LG Channels.
This is a feature available on their televisions running the webOS operating system, which by the end of the year will have a total of 1,900 TV channels that can be streamed from the television, although not all are available in all countries.
The themes of the channels will be very varied, with cinema, music, sport, news, variety, children’s content, etc., all accessible directly from the main menu and with a renewed interface.
According to the manufacturer, the availability of the service will increase from 14 to 25 countries, tripling the coverage in Europe, including Spain, and it will also be available in brands that have entered into an agreement with LG to integrate the operating system webOS in their televisions like Motorola, JVC, Polaroid and MASTER-G among others.
A new, more intuitive interface
One of the new features of LG Channels will be the user interface, which they make more intuitive, you will be able to analyze viewer preferences and you will learn how to offer personalized recommendations from the content library.
It will initially be available on TVs with webOS 5.0 and later, although they have also indicated that those with a TV with webOS 3.0 and 4.5 may also be updated “soon”, but no specific date has been given. .
Among the novelties we also find the arrival of Korean content in Europe as part of the extension of the service to the old continent. Thus, cinema channels such as K.MOVIES will arrive, which will be completed by other specialists and generalists from Rakuten and later in markets like Spain, 100 additional channels from Pluto TV, Qwest TV or TV UP will arrive, which will land between now and the end of 2021.
