The US government is developing a plan to require proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 from nearly all foreigners who wish to enter the country, Reuters reported on Wednesday (4), who heard a source at Home White.

The White House is not yet ready to lift all restrictions on entry for travelers due to the increase in coronavirus infections in the United States and the circulation of the delta variant, which is more transmissible, said the person in charge at the press agency.

Government agencies under President Joe Biden are working to “prepare a new system for when we can reopen travel,” the official said. The plan includes a phased approach that “over time will mean, with few exceptions, that foreigners traveling to the United States (from all countries) will need to be fully immunized.”

Currently, the United States prohibits entry into its territory to travelers who, in the 14 days prior to arrival, have visited Brazil, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran, United Kingdom and in the 26 European countries which do not have border controls. .
