Tickets are on sale now for “Fiddler on the Roof,” July 10-25 at Priscilla Beach Theatre.
“Fiddler on the Roof,” with book by Joseph Stein, lyrics by Sheldon Harrick and music by Jerry Bock, opens the inaugural season back on PBT’s historic barn stage. Beloved by audiences for more than 50 years, the show includes iconic songs such as “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Matchmaker” and “Miracle of Miracles.” The Tony Award winning musical is directed by Ron Fassler, featuring Michael Bernardi as Tevye, with a cast of actors from Los Angeles, New York and Boston.
Bernardi is the son of Herschel Bernardi, one of the original Tevyes on Broadway in the 1960’s who went on to embody the role in more than 2,000 performances.
“Playing Tevye in ‘Fiddler On The Roof’ is my own personal holy grail,” says Bernardi. “I’m so honored to be living and working this summer at Priscilla Beach Theatre with its marvelous barn.”
Fassler, who acted at PBT as a teenager, brings more than 30 years of experience on stage and in front of the camera. He has worked with such Hollywood directing icons as Clint Eastwood, Mike Nichols and Jay Roach. Along with Fassler and Bernardi, several other actors from Los Angeles will join the cast, including Allyn Morse, daughter of Tony Award winning actor Robert Morse
