State police arrested three people on drug and weapons charges at the Blue Spruce Motel, early Friday morning.
According to a press release, police executed search warrants at the hotel at 4 a.m. They arrested Jeffrey Haddock, 42, of Hohenwald, Tennessee was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Melissa Hinson, 28, of Humboldt, Tennessee, who was reportedly staying with Haddock, was found in a parked vehicle outside one of the motel’s rooms. Hinson, according to state police, is is a fugitive from Tennessee charged of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Also arrested was Charles Barr, 52, of Chocowinity, North Carolina. He arrested and aso charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of oxycodone pills.
State police report that troopers and officers recovered a loaded Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun with five rounds in the magazine, a total of approximately 18.4 grams of methamphetamine, five oxycodone pills, drug packaging materials, and scales. More ammunition was located and seized from one of the defendant’s trucks. Also seized was approximately $500 in suspected profits from alleged narcotics sales.
