Opera has announced a new web browser, or rather its first “web3 browser” that will give us access to this “third generation” of blockchain-based internet ready for cryptocurrencies, NFTs and decentralized applications (dApps).

Opera’s new Web3 initiative is coming to Windows, Mac and Android with a public beta that we can now download to our mobile devices with early access to the new Opera Crypto browser.

This is Opera Crypto Browser

With Opera Crypto Browser, we are faced with a browser based on Chromium but focused on this “web3” and this blockchain community which is only growing. Already in 2018 they added a cryptocurrency wallet in their Opera browser, but now they go even further.

Opera wants with its new browser to facilitate access to cryptographic activity, in addition to offering the highest security, and in Opera Crypto Browser everything revolves around the blockchain.

In Opera Crypto Browser we find a native crypto wallet without custody and secure clipboard that will allow us to add our wallet to buy cryptocurrencies, send, receive or exchange cryptocurrencies with other wallets.

In the browser part, we face Opera with tabbed browsing, access to history, downloads, desktop version of the website and settings. In Opera Crypto Browser’s settings, we can enable ad blocking, its web pages dark theme, or configure our cryptocurrency wallet.

In its interface we find a bottom navigation bar that gives us access to the cryptocurrency wallet, web browser, notifications and settings. In the notifications section we will see recent trades, price alerts and other types of notifications.

The most important thing about the browser is inside, where it is ready to be used in a much more decentralized Web3 where cryptocurrencies and blockchains will play a key role in the future.
