BenQ has announced the addition of a new portable projector to its catalog for users looking for all-in-one equipment that they can easily move to play content directly.

This is the GV30, a model with a particular circular shape with a handle on the upper part and a base or lower support, mounted inside a projection system for images up to 100 inches.

With an already somewhat meager resolution of just HD-Ready or 720p, the device can generate a light output of 300 lumens, offering the ability to elevate the image up to an angle of 135 degrees to suit the projection surface.

It will also have an integrated 2.1 sound system which will mount a stereo set with two woofers and two tweeters for the 4-watt mid frequencies accompanied by an 8-watt subwoofer for the low frequencies. The manufacturer’s idea is that this audio system can be used for playing movies, but also as a separate Bluetooth speaker without having to turn on the projector.

The operating system is provided by Android TV, including access to services such as Google TV or Netflix but also offering compatibility with Chromecast and AirPlay.

It has specific modes for games, sports and music, giving its internal battery an autonomy of up to 2.5 hours. On the connectivity side, there is an HDMI and USB-C port with DisplayPort.

Pricing and availability

The BenQ GV30 projector already appears on the manufacturer’s website in pre-purchase mode and can already be booked for 599 euros.
