A week ago we told you that the Realme Pad, one of the best value for money tablets, was not going to be updated to Android 12, although it was launched in the market with Android 11. The company, “thanks to user requests”, has decided to rectify, officially announcing that they will provide this update, in addition to three years of security updates.

Thus, the Realme Pad makes sure, at least, to update to the latest available version of Android. It will, as Realme promises, in Q3 2022, so we shouldn’t expect the update anytime soon. However, this is great news, since the tablet was meant to be born and die with Android 11.

Android 12 will arrive on the Realme Pad

Realme today announced that the Realme Pad will finally receive Android 12, due to user requests. Leaving it with Android 11 was an odd step for the manufacturer, being the brand’s first device that wasn’t going to receive a single major OS update.

From Realme they rectify in time: their Pad will receive Android 12 and, in addition, three years of security patches

From Realme they assure that the Realme Pad will be updated to the new version of Android in the third quarter of 2022, starting with India, as the company usually does. This guarantees a new version of Android for this year, in addition to three years of security patches.

Android 12 is an important update, especially in terms of managing notifications, the lock screen and other elements of Realme UI. It therefore remains to wait for the year to progress and to check if Realme keeps its promise, since this Pad is one of the best value for money.
