Two from Grand Canyon U coming to play for the Pilgrims

Two players from Grand Canyon University in Arizona are expected to join the Plymouth Pilgrims this summer. Tyler Wyatt of Peoria, Arizona posted a .239 average with seven doubles, two triples and 22 RBI at the plate and also  pitched   10 games posting a 2-5 record, a 5.58 ERA and 37 K’s. The big right-hander also spent time with the Matsu Miners of Alaska Summer Baseball League where his duel skills were on display yet again. In 38 at-bats with the Miners, Wyatt had a homerun and 4 RBI, but shined on the mound going 4-1 with 1.59 ERA in nine games including four starts. (more…) Continue Reading →

Plymouth Pilgrims add to infield for 2017 season

The Plymouth Pilgrims have added a pair of infielders to their roster for the 2017 season, according to a press release from the team. Patrick Dorrian from Lynn University was drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of high school in 2014, but opted to attend Herkimer College before transferring to Lynn. Plymouth Pilgrims sign a pitcher and a catcher

  This offseason got off to a late start for the Pilgrims, but the team continues to make progress in putting the 2017 team together.

Plymouth Pilgrims takes steps towards return

The Plymouth Pilgrims baseball team will be returning for the 2017 season. The Pilgrim’s new management team met with NECBL league officials and members of each NECBL team in Springfield, Sunday, November 13 to finalize plans for the Pilgrims to continue operations and remain in Plymouth. Former Red Sox player Steven Lyons will be featured speaker at Plymouth Pilgrim’s Hot Stove Dinner

The Plymouth Pilgrims are very excited to announce their First Hot Stove Dinner for March 19 at 6 p.m. hosted by The Cabby Shack and co-sponsored by Shaughnessy Rentals. Taking place in memory of the late Dan Grimes and in support of Anthony Lyons, the Hot Stove will serve as a kick-off to the Pilgrims preseason as well as a fundraising endeavor for the club. Mississippi State first baseman joins Plymouth Pilgrims

The Bulldog tradition carries on at Forges Field in 2016 with the addition of first baseman, Cole Gordon to the Pilgrims.

Gordon is a large human, 6’5” 240 and is a 2014 graduate of Tampa, Florida’s George M. Steinbrenner High School, yes, that’s the actual name of the school, where he reeled in a number of accolades throughout his four years including receiving various perfect game honors during his last three. Pilgrims add Notre Dame hurler Jack Connolly

The local signings continue as the Pilgrims have announced that Jack Connolly from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School will be a member of the team in 2016. Connolly, a 6-2, 200 lb. righty from Bridgewater and cousin of 2015 Pilgrims catcher/1B, Joe Freiday, is currently a freshman at Notre Dame. Featuring a devastating curve ball, Connolly had a tremendous high school career for the Trojans going 21-5 over 166 innings pitched with a 1.56 ERA and 217 strikeouts. Pilgrims sign two Boston College pitchers

With the Major League Baseball playoffs grinding towards the World Series, the Pilgrims have begun the process of signing players for the 2016 team. Someone once said that pitching wins championships. No one really knows for sure whom, but that mysterious person isn’t exactly wrong which is why the Pilgrims first two signings are young, local pitchers out of Boston College. Read more here.
