Beaver Dam Road fire sends one to hospital

An alleged case of smoking in bed lead to one person being taken to the hospital and eight people forced from their home following a fire on Beaver Dam Road, Friday morning. According to Chief Ed Bradley, firefighters were called to the home near Minuteman Lane at about 8:21 a.m. where they found the fire in a second floor bedroom of the duplex.  A 53-year-old Manomet woman was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, and then to a Boston hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to her hand, Bradley said. Ice fisherman, two cops taken to BID-Plymouth after rescue on Fresh Pond

WICKED LOCAL: Fire chief said Entergy failed to notify of hydrogen release and filed false report

There’s not telling someone what’s going on when you’re supposed to, and then there’s claiming you did something when you didn’t. This week, Fire Chief Ed Bradley said Entergy Corp., which owns and operates the Pilgrim Station Nuclear Power Plant, not only didn’t notify the Fire Department of a hydrogen release at the plant as it is required to do, but the company filed a false report on the matter. Full Sail fire caused by arson

The State Fire Marshall’s Office has confirmed that the fire which gutted the old Full Sail Bar on White Horse Beach was arson. While Jennifer Mieth of the State Fire Marshall’s Office did not go into detail about the fire’s cause, she did confirm it was deliberately set. Fire burns out iconic, abandoned, bar on White Horse Beach

The Full Sail Bar on White Horse Beach, which has been unoccupied for several years, was gutted by fire early Saturday morning. Reports on Facebook say the fire may have started at around 4 a.m.  While there has been no official confirmation of the cause, signs on the building offers up to $5,000 from the ArsonWatch reward program. Heroin suspected in death on Long Pond Road

A 34-year-old Martha’s Vineyard man died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth following an apparent heroin overdose at a home in South Plymouth, Tuesday morning. According to Captain John Rogers, the man was staying at a house in the 500  block of Long Pond Road where he was discovered by a resident. One hurt as fire destroys Manomet home

One person was taken to the hospital following a house fire on Sachem Road, Sunday night. The victim, a 44-year-old man, suffered from first degree burns and smoke inhalation, according to Police Captain John Rogers. Carbon monoxide scare causes evacuation of Manomet apartment building

Firefighters evacuated an apartment building on Tide View Path Friday evening after elevated carbon monoxide readings were detected. Suspected overdose victim taken to Manomet Fire Station

A 32-year-old Weymouth man was transported from the Manomet Fire Station to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth following a suspected drug overdose Friday night. According to Captain John Rogers, a relative of the victim drove him to the fire station.  Police were unable to find any evidence of drug use, but the relative told police the victim had a history of heroin use. Rollover accident on Long Pond Road sends one to hospital

A 20-year-old Hyde Park woman had to extricated from her car by firefighters after it rolled over on Long Pond Road, Wednesday afternoon. According to Captain John Rogers, the driver was traveling south when she reportedly lost control, swerved into the northbound lane and hit an embankment near Ship Pond Road. Her car then rolled over onto its roof, he said. She
