Pinehills man charged with assault

A Pinehills man is facing charges after allegedly threatening two people with a knife at a sober home Plymouth Center, Monday evening. William Fitzgerald, 53, of Clam Pudding was ejected from the home when he reportedly failed a breath test, Captain John Rogers said. He then returned to the home and entered the kitchen through an open door. There, Rogers said, he allegedly found a kitchen knife and threatened two 34-year-old men who worked there. Heroin suspected in overdose in Pinehills parking lot

A Plymouth man, 30, was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth following an apparent overdose in the parking lot of the Market in the Pinehills, Friday morning. According to Captain John Rogers, police responded to a report of a man siting in a pickup truck with a needle in his arm. When officers arrived, the found the man, conscious and alert. He admitted to using heroin, Rogers said.

Several Manomet and Pinehills residents seeking town office

Manomet and Pinehills residents will see competitive races for Town Meeting this election season. In Precinct 6, incumbents Colleen Coughlin, Paul Francis and Megan Collins-Dempster are being challenged by Cheryl Fischer and Maureen Renaud. In Precinct 7, Nathan Segal is running against incumbents Jeanette Kelly, Robert Materna and Karen Buechs. While Precinct 15, is guaranteed to see at least one new face at Town Meeting as Mark Leppo, Anatol Zukerman and Gilbert Paul are running against incumbents John DeCoste and Joseph Curley. Pinehills woman dies from injuries sustained in car crash last week

A Pinehills woman who was the passenger in a car involved in a head-on collision on Clark Road last Wednesday has died, according to p0lice. Sheila Blood, 78, suffered severe injuries and was taken by helicopter to a Boston accident following a crash in which her husband reportedly turned left from Landmark Drive into the wrong lane of traffic, hitting another car. The second car was driven by a 17-year-old man from the area, Rogers said. According to Rogers, witnesses say the young driver had no way of avoiding the collision. (more…) Continue Reading →

Pinehills woman taken to Boston hospital with serious injuries after car crash

A Pinehills woman was helicoptered to a Boston hospital following a head-on collision on Clark Road, Wednesday afternoon. According to Captain John Rogers, the woman, 78, was a passenger in a car being driven by her 83-year-old husband. He reportedly turned left from Landmark Drive into the wrong lane of traffic, hitting another car. The second car was driven by a 17-year-old man from the area, Rogers said. Pinehills restaurant denied license transfer due to unpaid back taxes

The Board of Selectmen decided to make an example of Cafe Roo, a restaurant in the Pinehills, during their meeting Wednesday. According to the Old Colony Memorial, the board voted to deny a license transfer for the business due to non-payment of back taxes. The owners of the company had requested a transfer of the common victualler’s license to a new company. However, the owners owe up to $6,242 in back taxes, according to Town Manager Melissa Arrighi. Alleged bank fraud scheme stopped at the Pinehills

A pair of Bridgeport, Connecticut men who had allegedly opened fraudulent bank accounts at several Massachusetts TD Bank branches saw their plan come to an end at the Pinehills, Thursday afternoon. According to Captain John Rogers, staff at the Pinehills branch had been alerted to the alleged scheme when Raul Samola, 36, reportedly tried to open an account at the branch.
