The Plymouth Department of Public Works will begin paving on Old Sandwich Road, between Jordan Road and Stonebridge Road, beginning July 11, 2016. The annual Thanksgiving Day Pilgrim 5K Run and Fitness Walk takes place November 26 starting at Village Racquet and Fitness in the Pinehills. Collision with cruiser results in OUI arrest

A 36-year-old Plymouth woman picked the wrong car to hit, Sunday morning. According to Captain John Rogers, Angela Groggett-Hines of Wood Street was driving south on Old Sandwich Road near Ship Pond Road when she allegedly veered into the other lane, hitting a Plymouth police car head on. Register for Thanksgiving road race

Sign-ups for the third annual Thanksgiving Day Pilgrim 5k are underway. The race starts at Village Racquet and Fitness Center in the Pinehills and runs along Old Sandwich Road.Online registration is $20 until November 1. All participants will receive a custom finishers’ medal.  T-Shirts, designed by professional graphic artists, will be given to all 1,000 runners. Alert woman foils illegal dumping

<p dir=3D”ltr”>A 42-year-old Plymouth man will be summoned by police =
after being caught trying to leave his trash by the side of Old Sandwich Ro=
ad.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>According to Capt. John Rogers, the man was spotted Th=
ursday morning unloading his Jeep by woman passing by. Realizing he had bee=
n caught, he put his trash back in his vehicle and drove off.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>However, the witness wrote down his license plate numb=
er and called police. When police caught up with the suspect, there was no =
garbage in the Jeep. Rogers did not know what had been done with the trash.=

Town Meeting votes to buy land off Old Sandwich Road

Meeting voted unanimously to spend $190,000 of Community Preservation Act m=
oney to purchase two parcels of land, one off Old Sandwich Road and one nea=
r Bloody Pond.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>Bill Keohan, chairman of the Community Preservation Co=
mmittee, noted the two parcels will improve access to existing conservation=
land. The land off Old Sandwich Road is a 19 acre parcel that is only 50 f=
eet wide, while the other parcel is 15 acres.</p>

Thanksgiving road race returns

A new Thanksgiving tradition enters its second year with the return of the Plymouth Thanksgiving Day Pilgrim 5K Run and Walk. Last year 550 runners took part and organizers are hoping to double that this year. The race starts at the Village Racquet and Fitness Center at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving, rain or shine. The course includes Old Sanwdich Road. The entry fee is $25 online until November 22 and $30 after and on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.All kids will receive a finishers’ medal.
