OBITUARY: Diroohy Kafulides, 88, loved by children and grandchildren

Diroohy D. (Antaramian) Kafulides of Plymouth, formerly of Wrentham, died December 10 at the age of 88. The beloved wife of the late Stephen Kafulides, she is survived by her daughters Irene Markos, and Stephanie Sage and her husband Kevin of Plymouth. She also leaves her four grandchildren Michelle Johnson, Kimberly Gallagher and Jonathan and Matthew Markos and four great grandchildren James, Stephen and Ryan Gallager and Aaron Johnson. OBITUARY:Jay LaBelle, 58, chef noted for Oysters Rockefeller recipe

Jay Randall LaBelle, 58, died unexpectedly at his home on December 5, 2012. He was the devoted husband for 27 years to Mary Lou (Micale) LaBelle. Born in Boston on February 1, 1954, he was the son of Emile J. LaBelle of Belchertown and the late Anne (Appleby) LaBelle. He was educated in Rochester and had worked for most of his life as a chef. OBITUARY: Marietta Brewster, 92, teacher, artist and equestrienne

Marietta “Lalla” Withington Brewster lifted off this earthly plain on November 30. The planet probably shifted a bit the day she was born in Brookline on Lincoln’s birthday, February 12, 1920. She lived most of her 92, almost 93 years in Plymouth with the exception of four years in Skaneateles, New York. She was a force of nature, the eldest daughter of a loving family of, eventually, nine siblings. Educated at the Chestnut Hill School, Beaver Country Day School and the Elliot-Pearson School for Nursery Education, she was a teacher into the very depth of her bones. Continue Reading →

OBITUARY: Margaret Crowell, 91, owned hair salon, loved baking pies

Margaret (Maggie) E. Crowell, died December 5, 2012. A resident of Manomet for 70 years, Margaret was born in Seekonk on December 4, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Emily and Joseph Souza. She was pre-deceased by her husband, of 63 years, Leslie (Let) Crowell and one son Richard Crowell of Manomet. She is survived by two sons, Martin Crowell and wife Muffett Crowell, of Harrison, Maine; Donald Crowell and wife Christine, of Pensacola, Florida; and a daughter Kathleen Mann, of Manomet, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. OBITUARY: Robert Venezia, Jr., 25, wrestled in high school, loved spending time with his family

Robert Anthony Venezia Jr., 25, of Plymouth died suddenly on November 10 at Jordan Hospital. 
He is survived by his parents Robert Venezia and Rhonda (McIsaac) of Plymouth, his sister Shannon Venezia of Plymouth and his grandparents Lucy Venezia of Marshfield and Ronald and Catherine McIsaac of Marshfield. He also leaves his cherished nieces Riley Venezia and Serenity Clifford and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert was born in Quincy and graduated from Plymouth High School where he was the captain of the wrestling team. He had attended Roger Williams University and had worked for Larkin Hathaway of Bridgewater. William H Holmes Jr. of Middleborough died unexpectedly October 8 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Janet (Birnie) Holmes for 35 years and companion to the late Sandra DiBona for the past several years. He was the loving father of Robin Holmes of Middleborough and her late companion Steve Brady, John Holmes of Plymouth and his wife Lauren (Fralick). He was a devoted grandfather of Joshua Holmes and step-grandfather of Cristin, Andrew, Alex, Sarah and Nick Chichetto. He was the loving brother of Helen (Pat) Holmes, Leonard Holmes and his husband Robert Leach, Theresa Nichols and her husband Al, Adrienne Whiting, Elmer Holmes and his wife Dedra, and the late Rosellen Hopkins.
