Plymouth Man honored at Moose International Convention

Victor Garrard of Plymouth, a current officer of the Plymouth Lodge #2485, Loyal Order of Moose, was awarded the Moose Fellowship Degree of Honor at the Moose International Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The Fellowship Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated leadership ability by giving their time and effort to serve on multiple Moose committees and by being a loyal, enthusiastic and active member of their Lodge. The Fellowship Degree is the third highest of four degrees that Moose members are eligible for. Members of the Fellowship Degree are recognized throughout the Moose organization as fraternal leaders who have earned the respect of their brother Moose members by service to others. Plymouth Moose Lodge to host a free opioid overdose prevention education class on Saturday

The Plymouth Moose Lodge will host a free Opioid Overdose Prevention Education Class in their Lodge home at 601 State Road in Plymouth on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. until noon.  Coffee and light refreshments will be served during this education class. The Opioid Overdose Prevention Education Class is presented by the COPE Center (Community Outreach, Prevention and Education), a unit of Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI). Casino night at the Moose Lodge on June 6

On Saturday, June 6, the Plymouth Women of the Moose will host a Casino Night at the Plymouth Moose Lodge, 601 State Road in Plymouth beginning at 7 p.m.

Bethune Bike Run takes place Saturday, May 9, 2015

The Plymouth Moose Lodge hosts the Sixth  annual Joe Bethune Motorcycle Run, Saturday, May 9, 2015. The ride is in memory of Petty Officer Joseph E. Bethune of Plymouth,  who died in 2008 in a motorcycle accident. Bethune was actively involved in the Moose Lodge. Plymouth Women of the Moose honored at state convention

Christine Leonard, Robin Cripps, Francine Diamond and Caroline Sullivan from the Plymouth Chapter of the Women of the Moose  were honored with a special conferral at the recent Massachusetts and Rhode Island Moose Association Mid-Year Conference in Framingham. The Academy of Friendship degree is the first degree in the Women of the Moose.  Women members earn this degree by being installed as a chairwoman of a committee, or an appointed or elected office before January 31 and serve in the same capacity until the end of the Chapter year. Plymouth South High students take top honors at Moose youth awareness program

Makayla McShane from Plymouth South High School won the $1,000 first place prize at the the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Moose “Youth Awareness” Program. Fellow PSHS students Kylie LeGrow and Bridgett Stevenson won second and third prizes. All three students plan to attend the Moose International Student Congress in Orlando, Florida April 30 – May 4.  There they will compete for over $30,000 in scholarships with other 60 students from the US and Canada. Plymouth Moose Lodge gets grant for building repairs

The Plymouth Moose Lodge has been awarded $9,800 in grant money towards repairing their Lodge home.  The money has been disbursed as part of a grant program from Moose International, the governing body of the Moose fraternity. Plymouth Moose Lodge and Attleboro Moose Lodge were the only two Lodges out of the 20 in Massachusetts awarded grant money, according to Administrator Francis Kuhn. (more…) Continue Reading →

Plymouth woman awarded Women of the Moose Fraternity honor

Bernadette McDonnell of Plymouth was recently awarded the Women of the Moose “Green Cap” honor of distinction at  the 78th Annual MA/RI State Moose Association Annual Convention in Andover. McDonnell, a long-time member of the Plymouth Chapter of the Women of the Moose, has held various officer positions in the organization, and has been involved in the Chapter’s many fundraisers, diaper drives and food drives to help the Plymouth community. Fundraiser for Flattery family at Moose Lodge

A fundraiser for the Flattery Family Benefit Fund will be held Friday, August 29 at The Moose Lodge, 601 State Road in Manomet, from 7 p.m.- 11 p.m.

Bethune of Plymouth,  who died in 2008 in a motorcycle accident. Bethune was actively involved in the Moose Lodge. Admission fees collected will go to the Joe Bethune Scholarship Fund for Plymouth High School students. Comedy show at Moose Lodge to benefit SPYB coach

The Plymouth Moose Lodge is hosting a comedy night fundraiser on June 21 to raise money for Bob Boutin, a longtime Plymouth resident and baseball coach who is recovering from a kidney and pancreas transplant. Boutin has lived with diabetes since childhood. The show features comedian Christine Hurley, a regular on the Boston comedy circuit and finalist on Nick at Nite’s “World’s Funniest Mom” contest. Tickets are $25. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Santa arrives at Manomet Moose Lodge in style

 

Eighty children and their parents had breakfast with Santa Claus at the Plymouth Moose Lodge on Saturday, December 15. The annual event, sponsored by the Plymouth Moose Lodge, gives member’s children and grandchildren a chance to have pancakes and sausages, and meet Santa. This year,Saint Nick arrived on a Plymouth Fire Department engine, giving his reindeer a chance to rest up for their big day! It’s Christ-Moose time in Manomet

The Women of the Moose of Plymouth will hold their third annual “Christ-Moose” Christmas Bazaar and Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to  3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, at the Plymouth Moose Lodge, 601 State Road in Manomet. Area crafters and vendors will have various items for sale. Lunch items and light refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day.
