Cape Cod woman arrested for OUI in Manomet

Police arrested a Cotuit woman on drunk driving charges, Friday night. According to Captain John Rogers, an officer spotted  Tracey Derosa-Todd, 49, traveling east on Beaver Dam Road at about 9:20 p.m. She allegedly crossed the double yellow line, nearly causing an accident, he said. Cash, jewelry stolen in alleged State Road burglaries

Police are investigating a pair of alleged burglaries that happened in Manomet, Monday. The first was reported at around 1:45 p.m at a home in the Fresh Pond area of State Road. Three arrested on drug and gun charges in Manomet

State police arrested three people on drug and weapons charges at the Blue Spruce Motel, early Friday morning. According to a press release, police executed search warrants at the hotel at 4 a.m. They arrested Jeffrey Haddock, 42, of Hohenwald, Tennessee  was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Manomet man almost falls for apartment con

A Fresh Pond Circle man looking for an apartment downtown finds himself with no apartment and an excess of gift cards. According to Captain John Rogers, the man found a listing on Craigslist for an apartment on Brewster Street. The price? $600 a month, payable in iTunes gift cards, Rogers said. Two arrested for alleged truck break-in

Two Manomet men are under arrest after their alleged attempt to steal from a truck was foiled. Michael Feinstein, 30, of Penny Lane was spotted allegedly taking a bag with power tools and other items from a work truck parked on Yawl Road just after midnight on Sunday, according to Captain John Rogers. The owner of the truck gave chase and struggled with Feinstein, Roger said. Feinstein’s alleged accomplice, Matthew Faucett, 31, of Manomet then, Rogers said, allegedly drove his own car towards the victim before the two fled. (more…) Continue Reading →

Man found unconscious behind wheel faces fifth OUI charge

A 53-year-old Plymouth man is facing drunk driving charges for the fifth time after being found unconscious in his car, Tuesday night. According to Lieutenant Dana Flynn, the driver was seen driving erratically down Rocky Hill Road at around 8:45 p.m. He eventually came to a stop and was found unconscious behind the wheel by a driver traveling behind him. ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ closes out Priscilla Beach Theatre season

Priscilla Beach Theatre proudly presents its closing show of the 2017 season, “Little Shop of Horrors.” Performances are October 13 through October 21 in the historic barn stage. With book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, and music by Alan Menken, “Little Shop of Horrors” is a sci-fi musical comedy about a meek florist who raises a plant that has an  appetite for human blood.

Vermont official urges nuclear decommissioning panel to ask questions, even if they’re not answered

Last week, Kate O’Connor, chairman of the citizen’s advisory panel created when the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was shut down gave Massachusetts’s own Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel a preview of what to expect in the next few years as Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station prepares to shut down forever. Vermont’s NDCAP was created in 2014, shortly before Vermont Yankee was shut down in December of that year, O’Connor said. Selectmen want answers on Simes House parking concerns

Selectmen want concerns about parking addressed before they’ll give their blessing to a Town Meeting warrant article that would change the zoning for the Simes House. Neighbors to the Simes House have expressed concerns about where visitors to the Simes House will park their cars. Pine Hills crash sends three to hospital

Three people were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth with minor injuries following a head-on collision Saturday on State Road. According to Captain John Rogers, a car driven by a 48-year-old Pembroke man traveling north near the Pine Hills, at about 1 p.m.  was hit head-on by a southbound vehicle that reportedly drifted into the other lane. Parking concerns raised as Simes House manager seeks zoning change (with poll)

Efforts to rezone the Simes House met local opposition and a less than enthusiastic Planning Board, Monday night. Open House at the Moose Lodge on September 16

The Plymouth Moose Lodge will start its 20th anniversary celebration by holding an Open House for the public on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. until noon at their lodge home at 601 State Road in Manomet. The Open House will showcase the Plymouth Moose Lodge working hard to be the “Heart of the Community” by helping charitable and other non-profit organizations. The men and women of the Plymouth Moose fraternity will be available to offer tours of the building, as well as to answer questions about the fraternity, and the Lodge’s involvement in the local community. Driver arrested for OUI while taking friends home

A Duxbury man arrested for drunk driving in Manomet early Sunday morning probably had the best of intentions. According to Captain John Rogers, Matthew Abbott, 22, was pulled over on Rocky Hill Road at around 1:20 a.m. after a caller had reported him driving erratically.  Not only did the officer allegedly find Abbott was drunk, he also found two passengers, a man and a woman, in the car, Rogers said. Open Space Committee wants to hear from you

Plymouth residents are invited to meet with members of the Open Space Committee to discuss the Plymouth Open Space Plan on Saturday, September 9 between 10 a.m. and noon at St. Catherine’s Chapel Park in Manomet, 95 White Horse Rd. The purpose of this event is to inform the public about the changes recommended to update the 2010 Open Space Plan and answer questions and receive comments about the Plan.  The Open Space Plan addresses natural, recreational, and agricultural open spaces and recommends actions to increase and improve these spaces.
