Police credit strong presence with decrease in July 3 arrests on White Horse Beach

Police made 10 arrests, mostly for underage drinking, during Monday night’s July 3 festivities on White Horse Beach. Over the past few years, the number of arrests on July 3 has been decreasing, according to Captain John Rogers. July 3 parking restrictions

The Plymouth Police department has anounced traffic restrictions for the July 3 celebration on White Horse Beach and surrounding neighborhoods. Traffic on Taylor Avenue will be blocked to all traffic with the exception of residents between White Horse Road and Rocky Hill Road to Taylor Avenue at Manomet Point Road beginning at 6 p.m. and will remain closed as deemed necessary. PHOTOS: July 3 at White Horse Beach

Once again, police efforts to make White Horse Beach’s July 3 celebration a peaceful one paid off, with a families making most of those in attendance, according to Police Chief Michael Botieri. Parking restrictions for July 3

Traffic on Taylor Avenue will be blocked to all traffic, except for residents, between White Horse Road and Rocky Hill Road to Taylor Avenue at Manomet Point Road beginning at 6 p.m.

It will remain closed as deemed necessary by the police. All side streets that lead to the Priscilla Beach area will be closed to all traffic, except for residents beginning at 6 p.m.There will be no parking all day at the following locations:

Manomet Point Road
Highland Terrace
White Horse Beach Road
Manomet Avenue
Old Beach Road
Rocky Hill Road between White Horse Beach Road and Power House Lane
Brian’s Way
Lopresti Road
Vine Brook Road
Cary Road
Fair Oaks Road
Arboretum Road
Emerson Field
Saint Catherine’s Chapel
Second Church
Beaver Dam Road from State Road to Patriot’s Circle
Manomet Elementary School

Police Capt. John Rogers advised that parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, and cars will be tagged and towed starting at 8 a.m., July 3. There will also be additional parking restrictions on Melix Avenue, Cape Cod Avenue and Reed Avenue. Information provided by Plymouth Police Department

Town officials, Manomet Village Steering Committee discuss July 3 plans

    July 3 went well on White Horse Beach last year, but town officials aim to be even more prepared this summer.    The Manomet Village Steering Committee met Thursday with Police Chief Michael Botieri, Fire Chief Ed Bradley, Harbor Master Chad Hunter and Public Works Director Jonathan Beder to discuss plans for this year’s event. Steering committee to discuss July 3 plans at Thursday meeting

The Manomet Village Steering Committee meets Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at Manomet Branch Library.The meeting will focus on plans for July 3.  The police and fire chiefs, along with the public works director will attend. Representatives from beach and homeowners associations are encouraged to attend.
