Police arrest Dorchester man at courthouse for suspected theft in Manomet

A Dorchester man was arrested on suspicion of stealing from a staff member at the High Point drug treatment, Sunday morning. According to Captain John Rogers, a police investigation identified Jose Morales, 44, as a suspect in the theft of a cell phone and debit card. He was found Monday afternoon at Plymouth District Court. He was there on another matter, Rogers said. The stolen items were found on him, he added. Continue Reading →

Two drug deaths over the weekend

Two people died of for possibly drug related reasons Saturday in Manomet and South Plymouth. Early Saturday morning, an Attleboro man, 30, who had been checked into High Point on April 29 was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth after apparently overdosing at the facility, according to Captain John Rogers. Woman arrested for attacking a police officer

Police arrested a woman at the High Point Treatment Center after she allegedly got violent. According to Capt. John Rogers, the 34-year-old woman was upset about being admitted at the facility. She reportedly became violent and broke two windows. When police arrived, she allegedly resisted arrest and attacked an officer. She was taken to Jordan Hospital for evaluation. Continue Reading →

High Point staffer assaulted

A patient at the High Point Treatment Center in the Pinehills faces multiple charges after allegedly attacking a staffer. According to Captain John Rogers, the suspect allegedly attempted to strangle the male staff person with a towel. He also reportedly threatened to kill the man. The suspect, who police have not identified, has been summonsed to court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and threatening to commit a crime. Continue Reading →

High Point patient puts up a fight

#0160;Of course, all it took was assaulting two police officers.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>According to Capt. Bruce McNamee, David Richert, 40, r=
esisted being taken to the hospital, first throwing clothes, then punches. =
Even after being wrestled to the ground and maced he resisted, until he was=
finally subdued.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>Richert, who is listed as homeless, faces two charges =
of assault and battery on a police officer, two charges of assault with a d=
angerous weapon and one charge of resisting arrest.</p>

Cedarville motorcyclist hurt in accident on State Road

A Cedarville man was taken to Jordan Hospital after an accident on State Road in Manomet. According to Capt. John Rogers, he was traveling south on State Road on his motorcycle near the High Point Treatment Center when he saw a car which he thought was exiting the facility. When he braked, he hit the ground, suffering cuts in bruises. The woman driving the car was, Rogers said, actually pulling back into High Point because she didn’t think she would be able to pull out into traffic fast enough.

UPDATE: Worcester man arrested for rape at High Point

A 37-year-old Worcester man faces rape charges after allegedly assaulting a fellow patient at the High Point treatment center in Manomet. According to Capt. John Rogers, Sixto Rivera attacked a 25-year-old Cape Cod woman in a bathroom Thursday afternoon. The alleged victim,  who has an undsisclosed mental handicap, later reported the attack to a staff member.  The Boston Globe reported that Rivera pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of rape, and indecent assault and battery on a retarded person.  He is being held on $50,000 bail.
