Plymouth Pilgrims sink Schooners

After a few offensive affairs in a row, the time was bound to come when the pitching staff would have to win a game. That time came for the Plymouth Pilgrims Monday, and their staff answered the call. Pilgrims sail over Waves

In a season full of pitchers duels, the Plymouth Pilgrims had seen the bottom of the ninth inning at home thus far, against Ocean State Monday. In the situation again, the home team would not go gently into the night. The Pilgrims (7-2) defeated the Ocean State Waves 6-5 in 13 innings Friday night at Forges Field. Pilgrims sweep season series with Muskrats

After suffering their first loss of the season Monday following the first win streak in club history, the Plymouth Pilgrims knew they had to come out and play well Thursday, and they did just that. The Pilgrims (6-2) defeated the Laconia Muskrats 8-3 at Forges Field, sweeping the season series with the Muskrats. Plymouth Pilgrims fall To Ocean State in pitcher’s duel

After winning three straight games for the first time in franchise history, the Plymouth Pilgrims rolled back home to try to extend the streak. The Pilgrims (5-2) fell to the Ocean State Waves 1-0 at Forges Field Monday night for the club’s first loss since June 12 in Newport. Plymouth Pilgrims rally late to top Gulls

After a huge loss in Newport Monday, the Plymouth Pilgrims came back determined to win their rematch at Thursday. With a combination of great pitching and timely hitting at the end of the game, they did just that. The Pilgrims (3-1) took down the first place Newport Gulls 4-1 at Forges Field on the strength of a three-run eighth inning that proved to be the winning margin. (more…) Continue Reading →

Plymouth Pilgrims lose to New Bedford in extra innings

The Plymouth Pilgrims have already had three games rained out, and were only able to play five so far this season. So on Friday, the team apparently felt the need to get in some extra baseball and make up for the lost innings. Although it wasn’t as lengthy as the Boston Bruins’ triple-overtime game on Wednesday night, the Plymouth Pilgrims lost in 11 innings to the New Bedford Bay Sox in an important divisional game. Pilgrims win home opener

Blake Lacey went 3-for-4 with a pair of singles, a double and two RBIs and pitcher Matt Smith threw three-straight 1-2-3 innings and struck out three en route to the Plymouth Pilgrim’s 4-1 victory over Sanford, Friday night. Smith was lights-out to start, throwing a no-hitter through the first three innings.
