Emma Sampson kicks her way to Athlete of the Week honors

Emma Sampson emerged as the hero of Plymouth South Varsity Football  Friday night with the game winning 19-yard field goal  to propel the Panthers past Pembroke for an 18-16 victory. 

Her game winning kick is the culmination of her hard work and perseverance that began long before the football season as she prepared to kick at the varsity level.  Her accomplishment on Friday night embodies what hard work in the offseason can do and we are proud of her for it.  For that, she’s the Plymouth South High School Female Athlete of the Week. North overcomes South in Thanksgiving Day showdown

In the annual showdown between the two high schools, Plymouth North defeated Plymouth South 36-29 in what proved to be a riveting conclusion to the 2015 season on Thanksgiving Day. South falls to North in first round of football playoffs

Plymouth Public Schools celebrated Halloween weekend as the Plymouth North Eagles defeated the Plymouth South Panthers 35-14 on Friday night, kicking off the high school playoffs. With Superintendent of Schools Gary Maestas in attendance, the home Eagles took their first step towards a trip to Gillette Stadium, a privilege their southern counterparts enjoyed back in 2013. North entered the showdown as favorites, bringing a high-powered offense fueled by versatile quarterback Cam Drew. The game received plenty of attention beforehand, as it was named the Fox 25 High School Football Game of the Week, edging Malden vs. Peabody by less than 600 total votes. (more…) Continue Reading →

Group effort earns PSHS Male Athlete of the week honors

The Male Athlete of the Week is the entire offensive line for the football team. Included are seniors Derek Anderson, Connor Rossi, Dillan Halpin and Ryan Madden, along with juniors Shaun Duncombe and Brendan Harty.  The dominating efforts of this group of young men were key in the 49-14 win for the Panthers over rival Sandwich High School. During the game South’s offense rushed for over 400 yards which paved the way for seven rushing touchdowns.  Their blocking was integral for the success of the entire team. Continue Reading →

Panthers put one in the win column
