Open house at the Davis-Douglas farm

Tours of the Davis-Douglas Farm will take place September 29 and October 21. The Wildlands Trust is hosting two open houses at the Davis-Douglas Farm on Long Pond Road. The events will give visitors a chance to learn about the Trust’s plans to relocate its headquarters to the property and to establish a new conservation center focused on land protection, land stewardship and passive outdoor recreation. Manomet bog building plan withdrawn

<p dir=3D”ltr”>The plan to clear 38 acres of land near the High Point=
Treatment Center in order to grow blueberries and cranberries has been wit=
hdrawn.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>Attorney Harold Moody, representing farmer Brian Willi=
ams and property owner Kathy Mann, asked the Zoning Board of Appeals to dis=
miss the case in a letter dated March 6. The board gave its consent Wednesd=
ay night.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>The Manomet Village Steering Committee voted against t=
he proposal at its February meeeting.</p>
