Wreath making workshop at the Wildlands Trust

The Wildland Trust is hosting a holiday wreath making workshop at its headquarters on Sunday, December 4 at 10 a.m.

In this workshop, led by local horticulturist Susanne Lucas, guests will make and take home a beautiful all-natural wreath for the holidays. Buy a Christmas Tree and support PSHS athletes

The Plymouth South High School Tennis, Track and Softball teams are holding a Christmas Tree sale this weekend at the school. Trees will be on sale on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices range from $35 to $60. All proceeds benefit the teams. Continue Reading →

Manomet Christmas Tree lighting happens November 25, 2016

This year’s Manomet Christmas Tree Lighting will be at the Manomet Fire Station on November 25, 2016 at 6 p.m.

Parking will be in the St. Bonaventure back lot on fire station side. As usual,  a certain jolly old elf will lead the lighting, along with caroling by Troop 51 and seasonal goodies. Manomet Christmas Tree lighting is this Friday

Caroling, holiday refreshments and a visit from St. Nick will highlight the annual Manomet Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, November 28 at 6 p.m.

“Bart,” as the yule tree is named, Santa and his elves and helpers will be at Manomet Commons on the grounds of the Simes House, 29 Manomet Point Road, Plymouth. Parking is available across the street at Manomet Plaza. The event is free. (more…) Continue Reading →

Meet kids’ author Brian Lies and his musical petting zoo at this year’s Holidays on the Green

On Saturday, December 6, Holidays on the Green returns to The Pinehills for the 10th year! The day kicks off with “Breakfast with Santa” by reservation at Mamma Mia’s, from 8 -11 a.m., and ends with a Christmas tree lighting at 5 p.m. Activities begin at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Volunteers needed to decorate Simes House for the holidays

The annual Manomet Christmas Tree Lighting is coming up and volunteers are needed to help decorate the Simes House exterior on Saturday, November 15 at 10 a.m.

‘A Christmas Carol’ comes to Manomet

Charle’s Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”  starring Priscilla Beach Theatre’s Dramatic School Players will be presented at Manomet Elementary School, 70 Manomet Point Road on Saturday, December 8 and 15 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, December 9 and 16 at 2 p.m.. The Dramatic School Players include Gabrielle Barron, Thalia Sapia, Chasey Sampson, Haley Robertson, Emma Stillman, Sky Nickerson, Summer Nickerson, Paul Newcomb, Quinn Colby, Grayce Tate, Ella Tate, Lily Johnson, Brenna Colvin, Mercedes Townsend, Alisa Lopresti, Caitlin Stehn, Amelia Rojik, Emma Keane, Lauren Bridgewater and Eve Flederman. Plans moving ahead for traffic light and Christmas tree

ge Steering Committee meeting. &#0160;This is substantially earlier tha=
n the target date of next summer that had been reported earlier.</p>
<p dir=3D”ltr”>The project also looks like it will cost a little less=
than estimated, as the winning bidder, P.V. Barone Corp. of Winthrop, came=
in with a bid slightly under the $1,099,410 that had been estimated.</p=

<p dir=3D”ltr”>With the lights coming sooner than expected, <a hre=
f=3D”http://www.manometcurrent.com/2011/08/plans-being-developed-to-move-vi=
llage-christmas-tree.html” target=3D”_blank”>plans</a> to move the=
village Christmas tree, located in front of Luke=E2=80=99s Liquors, to the=
Simes House have moved ahead, according to Steering Committee Chairman Ran=
dy Parker. The Simes House Foundation voted to accept the tree and Greeno T=
ree has provided an estimated cost of $2,800 to move it.</p>

Plans being developed to move village Christmas tree

This Douglas Fir, once a 'Charlie Brown Tree' has grown to 30 feet in its 25 years in front of Luke's Liquors. Next summer,  a new traffic light should be installed at  the intersection of State Road and Manomet Point Road, a  project that’s been over a decade in planning. While putting a light there is something that village residents have wanted for years, there could be one casualty of the project, a tree that was planted, and has grown, in front of Luke’s Liquors since the 1980s. The tree has been a centerpiece of Manomet Christmas celebrations. Not only will a traffic signal be installed, the project will also include widening the roads to allow for a turning lane, and the realignment of Strand Avenue. Continue Reading →
