Plymouth South High School students chosen to receive violence prevention training

Plymouth South High School is one 34 high schools across the state will receive an on-site, in-depth training on violence prevention in the next phase of Game Change, the office’s anti-violence partnership with the New England Patriots, according to a press release from the Attorney General’s office. Beginning this fall and continuing throughout the 2016-2017 school year, staff from Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) will provide direct training on preventing relationship violence to more than 1,000 high school students. Attorney General Healey calls for strict oversight of funds to clean up closed nuclear plants

Attorney General Maura Healey announced she has filed a brief with other New England states in support of Vermont’s call on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to ensure decommissioning funds meant to clean up radioactive waste at closed power plants are not used for other purposes. TD Bank to pay fine in data breach case

TD Bank will pay $625,000 and take steps to strengthen its security practices after losing unencrypted back-up tapes containing personal information for more than 90,000 Massachusetts customers, and delaying a notice of the incident to the Attorney General’s Office and impacted residents, Attorney General Martha Coakley announced in a press release. TD Bank loses backup tapes containing customer information

TD Bank informed the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office it lost unencrypted backup tapes containing personal information, including name, address, Social Security number, account number, or other data elements such as date of birth or driver’s license number.   73,000 Massachusetts customers. The bank has one branch in Plymouth, located in the Pinehills. TD Banks says that they will be sending letters to Massachusetts consumers today about this breach and how they are addressing the loss of the tapes. Two companies that worked at Pinehills fined by attorney general’s office

Two contractors that worked on the Great Island project at the Pinehills are among the companies  ordered to pay more than $400,000 in unpaid wages and penalties, and more than $141,000 has been recovered in previously outstanding revenue for Massachusetts’ unemployment system according to a press release from the Attorney General’s office.
