The life of pop star Michael Jackson is going to be filmed in Hollywood. British star producer Graham King (“Aviator”) and studio Lionsgate are on board.
The screenplay for the film ‘Michael’ is provided by writer John Logan (‘Gladiator’, ‘James Bond 007: Spectre’, ‘Alien: Covenant’), as reported by Lionsgate according to ‘Variety’ and ‘Hollywood Reporter’ .
Besides King, the administration of the estate and the family of the singer, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, are also involved in the project. Jackson’s mother, Katherine, said the family was honored to film the life story. Michael loved the “magic of cinema” from an early age.
With hits like ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Beat It’ and ‘Thriller’, the artist celebrated as the ‘King of Pop’ has become one of the highest earning and best known singers in the world. His eccentric lifestyle and allegations of abuse subsequently tarnished his image. But Jackson’s life continues to provide material for shows and movies.
