Many users have Spotify. Although this does not stop some from deciding to go for other music streaming services. For a user who owns an iPhone, the most natural option is Apple Music. If this is your situation, here’s how you can move all your playlists and content from Spotify to Apple Music quickly and painlessly.

How to sign up for Apple Music

Apple Music has a number of advantages over Spotify that might be worth it. In addition to integration with all of its products and platforms, Apple Music has a high-quality Lossless version, already deployed on almost all of its tracks. On the Spotify side, the Swedish company has reneged on its promise to have hi-fi sound in 2021 and there is currently no date for its launch.

The price can also be an incentive. Apple Music Voice starts as the cheapest payment plan for 4.99 euros. The same amount as the student version. The normal plan is 9.99 euros and the family plan is 14.99 euros, with up to six family members. We also have Apple One, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 200 GB iCloud for 19.95 euros.

If you want to sign up for Apple Music, just follow these steps:

On your iPhone, open the Apple Music app and go to the Listen or Browse tab. You will see a message asking you to register, currently there is a free trial month. Sign up with your Apple ID, entering your password. Choose the plan you want to have and accept the service.

With this, you will already be subscribed to one of the Apple Music plans. Now all you have to do is pass Spotify playlists.

How to Transfer All Your Playlists from Spotify to Apple Music with SongShift

To move all of your Spotify playlists to Apple Music, we’ll be using the free SongShift app on the App Store. There are other similar applications, but this one generally gives satisfactory results (we tried SongShift a few years ago and it is still adequate). In its free version we can connect two services, one will be for Spotify and the other for Apple Music.

It is essential that we have already registered the Apple Music account to be able to transfer the lists from one service to another. To do this, we will follow these steps:

We open SongShift after downloading it. We connect Apple Music and give it permission; We entered with our username and password in Spotify. Click Continue and then Start. In the My Shifts tab, tap the + symbol to start the process. Choose Spotify as the source and click Continue. You will need to choose a Spotify playlist to start exporting it to Apple Music.

The process takes a few seconds. You will be able to review the songs and if you are satisfied, confirm the transfer. When you finish all this, you will see how a playlist appears in your Apple Music app with the songs it contained in Spotify.

The system isn’t perfect, but it does what it promises, saving you a lot of time and effort. If you find it necessary because you have many lists and you are going to use the app for a long time, you can go for the premium version.
