Selectmen voted Tuesday to support borrowing $3.7 million dollars to pay for building new athletic fields at Plymouth South High School, a month after putting off a vote on the same request.
Superintendent Gary Maestas said he anticipated that up to $1.8 million of the sum would be repaid from the Plymouth South High School building project’s contingency fund after it was officially complete. The school department is looking into a deal to install solar panels at the school to pay for the lights. The field would be used by the soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball teams.
Town Meeting will have the final say when it meets on April 1.
