Pilgrims top Danbury

With the top record in the NECBL already clinched, the Plymouth Pilgrims are playing now to tune up for the postseason. In their second to last scheduled game, however, they took one more step towards history.

The Pilgrims (31-10) defeated the Danbury Westerners 2-0 at Forges Field Friday, pulling within one win of tying the NECBL record for wins in a season. In addition to the win record, the Pilgrims are one double play away from tying the NECBL record set in 2011 by Newport.

Pilgrims outdo Schooners

Heading into the last road trip of the season, the Plymouth Pilgrims had already clinched the best road record in the league. The team added one for good measure Thursday.

The Pilgrims (30-10) beat the Mystic Schooners 4-3 at Fitch High School Field to clinch the best record in the NECBL. The team’s 30 wins doubles last season’s total.
