Pilgrims shut out by Mystic Schooners

The Plymouth Pilgrims entered their contest against the Mystic Schooners on Thursday night winners of eight of their previous 10 games. The Pilgrims offense was clicking and the pitching was getting the job done. However a 14-run offensive outburst from the Schooners at Forges Field quickly deflated the Pilgrims’ sails.

The Pilgrims were shutout for the first time this NECBL season, notching only five hits in the game. With only one of those hits going for extra bases, the Pilgrims rarely found runners in scoring position. Schooners pitcher Kellen Croche dealt five innings on the mound, striking out five batters and allowing only three hits, earning his third win of the year.
