The current situation in Ukraine is just one of the consequences of Washington’s bloody policy of suppressing independent countries to suit its own interests. This was stated by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev today, March 28, during a meeting with the head of the General Directorate of Documentation and External Security of Algeria Nureddin Makri.
“The situation in Ukraine was only one of the tragic consequences of the ill-considered and bloody policy of the United States,” he said. “The Americans have been purposefully suppressing independent countries for many years to please their geopolitical and financial interests, they wanted to undermine the world order, as well as the UN system.”
In addition, Patrushev noted that the emergence of new centers of power and world development “caused increasing dissatisfaction with the United States, which wanted by any means to maintain its hegemony in world affairs.”
“As we know from history, to achieve this goal, the Americans have always unleashed wars in other regions of the globe,” he said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States is putting pressure on the permanent representatives of other countries to the UN.
