The Manomet Village Steering Committee is OK with the idea of building five new homes behind the Serenity Hill Kennels on Beaver Dam Road.
Randy Parker presented the plan to the committee last Thursday night. The development would consists of three two-bedroom homes and two three-bedroom homes clustered around a cul-de-sac at the end of a new road off Beaver Dam Road.
As part of the project, 1.5 acres of land behind the homes will be deeded to the town for conservation purposes, Parker said. There are vernal pools located on that land, he noted.
The project is currently under review by the Planning Board. The MVSC voted 3-0 that it had no objection to it. Parker, a member of the MVSC, recused himself from the vote.
The Brennan family, which owns the kennel, will continue to operate their business.
