This Saturday evening (14), a new shock hit Haiti. This time, with a moderate magnitude, 5.8, and at a depth of 10 km. The new shock occurred at around 11:20 p.m. (12:20 a.m. Brasilia time). The information comes from the European Seismological Center for the Mediterranean (EMSC).
The new aftershocks came hours after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that killed at least 724 people. According to the Haitian authorities, this Sunday (15) the number of injured rose to 2,800. The country’s Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, flew over the affected areas and declared a state of emergency for 30 days.
