Microsoft is a company that we quickly associated with software, but which has an ever-growing number of devices to its credit. There are their consoles, the range of tablets, laptops and phones and like theirs, headphones. A type of product to which is now added a new model, the Xbox Stereo Headset.
This is, as the name suggests, a headset designed for use with the Xbox. A twist to those we have already seen in the Xbox wireless headset which we have already analyzed. The difference in this case can also be seen in the name, because this model relies on the cable for its connection.
Swap bluetooth for cable
Xbox stereo headsets don’t offer much difference from the wireless version of Xbox wireless headsets. Aesthetically, they are almost traced and with the addition of the cable to connect, the Xbox stereo headset stands out for its price, almost half that of the previous ones.
These are Dolby Atmos and DTS Headphone: X audio compatible headphones that incorporate two speakers with a diameter of 40 mm with a neodymium magnet capable of generating an impedance of 32 ohms and a frequency response that goes from 20 Hz at 20 kHz.
They have a microphone with indication LEDs and the same controls for power / pairing, mute, the wheel to adjust the game / chat balance (left box) and the wheel to adjust the volume (box right). What we didn’t find is the ability to mix the volume of the chat audio with that of the game audio.
The Bluetooth 4.2 connection with A2DP, HFP and HSP now gives way to connectivity via cable and 3.5mm jack via a green colored cable from the house.
Pricing and availability
The Xbox Stereo Headset will hit the market for 59.99 euros, a much more attractive price if the cable is not a problem for us, than the 99.99 euros that the Xbox Wireless Headset costs. They will be available from September 21, 2021, but it is already possible to reserve them in the official Microsoft store.
