In 1995, he co-founded the metal group Sloipknot. He later went his own way. Now drummer Joey Jordison has passed away far too soon.
Washington (AP) – Former drummer for metal band Slipknot, Joey Jordison, has died according to media reports at the age of 46.
“We are heartbroken to announce that Joey Jordison, a prolific drummer, musician and performer, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2021,” CNN said on Tuesday (local time) from a family statement that the American shipper was present. “Joey’s death left us empty hearts and indescribable sadness.” He had a “sweet personality” and a “huge heart”. Initially, no information on the cause of death was given.
According to the report, Jordison co-founded the metal band in the US state of Iowa in 1995, which later rose to fame for their provocative appearances in horror suits and masks. In 1999, the album of the same name “Slipknot” was released. In 2013, it became known that the drummer and the band went their separate ways. Jordison later announced that he had a nervous system disorder. In addition to Slipknot, he was a co-founder of groups such as Scar The Martyr and Sinsaenum.
Many colleagues in the music industry were involved in the musician’s death. System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian called Jordison a “great drummer and man” on Facebook. The Metallica group posted a photo of Jordison with the words “RIP brother …”. Slipknot himself initially posted a completely black profile picture on his Twitter account without comment.
