A Manomet man was charged with drunk driving for the third time following a crash near a State Road gas station, Sunday night.
According to Captain John Rogers, police responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident at the A-1 Prime gas station at around 10 p.m. They found a car that had hit the curb, suffering extensive front-end damage, he said. The driver, Donald Jefferson, 46 of Clearwater Drive was found walking away from the scene. He was picked up and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth after saying he hit his head.
While at the hospital, he was charged with drunk driving based on his alleged level of intoxication, Rogers said. Jefferson ws charged with OUI (third offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.
