Manomet man arrested for drunk driving, lying to police

Not only does  a Manomet man faces drunk driving charges for the third time, he allegedly added to his troubles by trying to cover it up.

According to Captain John Rogers, police found an abandoned car crashed into a tree on Ship Pond road at about 1:30, Tuesday morning, Police traced the car’s registration to a home on Brentwood Circle, where the owner, Bryan McKenna, 44, told police it had been stolen.

He then went to police to file a report, according to Rogers, where police allegedly determined that he was drunk. McKenna was charged with leaving the scene of property damage, filing a false report of motor vehicle theft, making a false report to a public safety dispatcher, misleading a police officer, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI (third offense).
