Manomet Center gets federal grant to expand internship program

The Manomet Center has received a $91,000 grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency to expand its internship program.

Called “U360,” the program gives students a chance to learn about climate change, energy, water, and toxins; practical tools for addressing these environmental issues; and how to apply this knowledge by helping small businesses improve their sustainability and reduce their environmental footprint, according to a press release. The grant allows the Manomet Center to expand the program to five schools in New England.

“Through this grant, students will interview small business owners and help them to view their operations through a sustainability lens,” Project manager Lora Winslow said.
