In recent years, we have seen a growing demand for ultra-wide format monitors, with huge sizes that completely rule out the concept of dual monitors. If we add to this formula that it is also portable, the result is the monitor that the Lukos team has developed and is promoting through a campaign on Indiegogo.
With the Lukos name, it’s the first portable ultrawide monitor that also has a 32:9 aspect ratio. With 4K resolution and 14-inch size, it’s a versatile monitor in which its versatility is striking. And it is that on the page dedicated to the project they assure that said monitor can be used both for playing video games and for use in a more professional environment. Along with this, its creators claim that we can also rotate it vertically to facilitate access to social networks or reading.
A small, portable IPS panel with 4K resolution
It has an IPS panel with a native frequency of 60 Hz and a response time of 2 ms. In addition, it offers 100% of the sRGB color space and an average brightness of 300 nits. Although this is not very impressive data given the great competition in the sector, we must not forget that it is a “portable” monitor, being able to connect it to several devices via HDMI , DisplayPort and even USB-C. In addition, it includes a remote control to access its configuration.
Its manufacturer guarantees that the monitor is compatible with desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices and even consoles such as PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. In addition, its use can also be oriented as a complementary panel to our computer, taking advantage of its screen to create a panel with information on the performance of our computer and temperatures.
Price and availability
In its crowdfunding campaign, it has already managed to exceed 174,000 euros in funding at the time of writing this article. The price set for this monitor is $419 and the intention of the manufacturer is to start mass production from next March. Monitors should start reaching users sometime in May.
