Learn about plans for plans for high-voltage power cable in Manomet

Join the Emera Atlantic Link project team at a drop-in informational open house on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Manomet Youth Center, 659 State Road.

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.

Atlantic Link is a proposed subsea high-voltage direct current (HVdc) transmission line that would deliver up to 1,000 megawatts of clean energy from Canada directly to Massachusetts, through a cable landing site in Plymouth. The project is responding to a Request for Proposals for clean energy that was mandated by state legislation approved in 2017. A decision on whether the project has been selected is expected early next year. If it proceeds, Atlantic Link would require building new electric infrastructure beside Powerhouse Road, with construction beginning in 2020. The project still requires local zoning, state and federal approvals.

This open house will provide an opportunity to learn more about this proposed clean energy project and speak with members of the Emera team.
