There was a time when Huawei had a large catalog of entry-level and mid-range devices, like the Huawei Y or the P Smart, but they almost completely disappeared after the American veto. Now here is one of Huawei’s first budget phones since then, the new Huawei Nova Y60.
The Huawei Nova Y60 is a new entry line with measured specs accompanied by a nice and updated design. Mount the Helio P35 inside, a triple camera and a big battery.

A new entry level from Huawei
Since the US veto, Huawei has significantly curtailed the launch of new models, focusing almost entirely on the mid-range and China. The Huawei Nova Y60 is cut from another model, being a simple mobile which, in addition, was put on sale outside of China. Right now in South Africa.
In a way, the Huawei Nova Y60 is reminiscent of the old Huawei Y, with a low price and a good design. It’s an unpretentious terminal, with a 6.6-inch diagonal LCD screen and HD + resolution.
At the top of the screen is the notch that surrounds the front camera, with a resolution of 8 megapixels and an aperture of f / 2.0. Behind, the terminal mounts a triple camera in a rectangular camera module.
It is a main sensor of 13 megapixels and an aperture of f / 1.8, with a wide angle of 5 megapixels and an aperture of f / 2.2 and a third sensor of 2 megapixels for the portrait mode, with a mode beauty 5.0 and other AI optimizations.
The power of the Huawei Nova Y60 is provided by the MediaTek Helio P35, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage expandable via a microSD card. The terminal does not include HarmonyOS but rather EMUI 11.0.1, based on Android 10.
As usual in inexpensive mobiles, the Huawei Nova Y60 relies on autonomy, carrying a large battery of 5,000 mAh of capacity, although with a standard charge of 10W. The fingerprint reader is present on one of its sides.
