Facebook has been working for several months to bring the famous iMessage reactions to its own messaging application: WhatsApp. A job that now seems nearing completion, as we have been able to observe the appearance of these reactions and calculate that we will soon have them among us.

A system to “respond” without having to write

In WABetaInfo they had access to the internal beta version of WhatsApp and were already able to test the reactions to messages. Some reactions that reach both Android and iOS sooner rather than later. As can be seen in the image below, the Facebook messaging app offers, at least now, six reactions.

Once we have reacted to the message, for now we don’t know if with a long press on it or via a new button on the interface, the reaction is noted in the lower right part of the message in the form of the emoji that we have chosen.

A feature that will allow us to quickly “respond” to certain messages that do not require a response, but benefit from a reaction, almost like an acknowledgment of receipt. A feature that we already know from iMessage, Telegram or even Slack and that Facebook has now decided to implement in WhatsApp.

Although Facebook offers a “+” button to select more emojis in Facebook Messenger reactions, judging by the leaked images, this will not be the case with WhatsApp, where we can only choose from the six preset reactions. . These reactions, judging by the state of development, should soon find their way into the final version of the application.
