Google’s storage service, Google One, comes with additional benefits beyond increasing the space you have available to store your photos, emails, and more. One of them is the VPN service, which is now available in Spain and a few other countries.
Google announced its Google One VPN last year, although it was only launched for the first time in the United States. It now also reaches Spain, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy. Eight countries in total.
Included in 2 TB plans
Google created its VPN as a security reinforcement for connections on Android mobiles which, subsequently, can also be used on iOS, Windows and Mac. Google presents it as a high-speed VPN that takes advantage of its servers around the world to protect your privacy and encrypt all your data, regardless of the application or website.
Google VPN masks your IP address, although it is not used to change the location as is often the case with other similar services. A highlight is that its configuration is literally done at the push of a button in the official Google One app.
Google’s VPN connection launched last year in the United States, now starting its global availability with its landing in eight other countries. This is an added benefit of the 2TB plan, which costs $ 9.99 per month or $ 99.99 per year.
In fact, this is the only way to connect to Google VPN, since it is not for sale separately. To connect to the VPN you must install the Google One application on Android, and the service is currently exclusive for Android. Google guarantees that later support will be added for connecting from Windows, Mac, and iPhone or iPad. You can rent the plan and start using the VPN right from the app.
