A South Plymouth man was arrested after allegedly using a stolen credit card to buy gas, Monday night.
James Thompson, 25, of Gunners Exchange Road allegedly used the credit card at the Shell Gas Station off Exit 5, according to Captain John Rogers. Police were already aware of the stolen card because, Rogers said, a woman working at the nearby Home Depot reported her purse, which contained her credit cards and phone, had been stolen from the store.
Using surveillance tape, police identified Thompson and found him at Pilgrim Hill Road, Rogers said. He was charged with receiving stolen property over $250 and improper use of a credit card under $250. He was charged with receiving stolen property due to the phone in the purse, Rogers said.
