‘A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” coming to Priscilla Beach Theatre

Priscilla Beach Theatre is pleased to present the musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum,” August 4-20, on its historic barn stage.

The Tony Award winning hit, often considered one of the funniest musicals ever written, features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, with book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart.

“A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” turns back time with its musical romp through ancient Roman, adding its own fast-paced, witty and irreverent comedy along the way. Its plot builds with twists and turns, scheming neighbors, confusing disguises, mistaken identities, big musical numbers and a beautiful showgirl or two.

“Our extremely talented resident troupe of actors is ready to wow audiences with another unforgettable show,” says Bob Malone, PBT producer/owner. “If you haven’t had the chance to see them on stage, then you owe it to yourself to come out for this very funny, over-the-top production of Forum.

“A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” can be seen on PBT’s historic barn stage August 4, 5, 6, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m., and August 7 and 14 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 adult, and $24 seniors 65+, and all seats reserved.
