A ongoing dispute between two Cape Cod Avenue neighbors finally turned violent early Monday morning.
When it was over, a 78-year-old man was both charged with assault and battery, and in the hospital.
According to Lieutenant Dana Flynn, the suspect spit, punched and threw a rock at his 66-year-old neighbor. The rock allegedly struck the man in the arm, Flynn said. Police have been called to the neighborhood several times recently due to disputes between the two.
When police arrived, the suspect complained of chest pains and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, where he remains in stable condition. The alleged victim suffered no serious injuries.
The suspect, who Flynn declined to identify, was charged with assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
