A Duxbury man arrested for drunk driving in Manomet early Sunday morning probably had the best of intentions.
According to Captain John Rogers, Matthew Abbott, 22, was pulled over on Rocky Hill Road at around 1:20 a.m. after a caller had reported him driving erratically. Not only did the officer allegedly find Abbott was drunk, he also found two passengers, a man and a woman, in the car, Rogers said. Abbott, he said, told the officer the pair were too drunk to drive, so he was taking them home.
He was charged with OUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
