One of Xiaomi’s most unknown functions is rest mode, a function of the MIUI Health app that is only accessible if we meet a certain requirement. It is one of the most powerful sleep modes on the market, as it is even able to make recordings of our snoring and tell us what time of night it was made.

We will tell you how to enable sleep tracking in Xiaomi, everything that can be done with this option and how you can configure it to get the most out of it. You will need a mobile updated to MIUI 12 and a few minutes to configure it.

How to bring up sleep mode to you

To display this mode, you must have installed the Health application. If you haven’t installed it on your Xiaomi, you can still safely download it from APKmirror. In our case, it was also necessary to have an active Xiaomi account, to synchronize said health data. Once you have installed the Xiaomi account and the Health app, you make sure that it will work properly.

By opening the “Sleep” section, we can activate snoring tracking, voice recording included

All you have to do is open the Health application and go to the “Sleep” section. The first thing we are going to do is configure the hours of sleep, setting one time to sleep and another to wake up. During the sleep period, the mobile will be in ‘Do not disturb’ mode, so that nothing disturbs our sleep.

In addition to enabling this option, if you wish, you can enable the snore detection option, giving microphone permissions to the Health app. While you are resting, MIUI will record and store your snore locally, offering later playback of the recordings.

If we have everything active, we will have the most complete sleep reports:

Sleep information for the day, week and month Sleep hours Deep sleep, light sleep and wake times Snore times Snore recordings

It is quite curious how Xiaomi is able to analyze what snoring is and record when we do it. So that they don’t take up too much space, you can delete these recordings whenever you want.
