Classic Broadway musicals return to Priscilla Beach Theatre’s barn this summer

In celebration of the inaugural season back on its historic main stage this summer, Priscilla Beach Theatre  will present the Tony Award winning  musicals “Chicago” and “Fiddler On The Roof.”

Broadway and Hollywood actor, writer, and director and PBT alum Ron Fassler, returns as director of “Fiddler On The Roof.”

Winner of  nine Tony Awards,  “Fiddler On The Roof” will be on the PBT stage from July 10-25, Following that, from August 7-22, will be “Chicago,” the second-longest running show in Broadway history and the 1997 winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival.

Owner and producer Bob Malone is excited to spread the news about the barn renovation and the upcoming season. “Our beautifully restored barn will be up and running this summer so we are excited to present two big hits,” says Malone. “In particular, the choice of Fiddler as our first show back on the barn stage is as important as it is sentimental. It was 39 years ago when I first discovered PBT and helped out backstage for a visiting theater group from Tufts University. They were producing Fiddler that summer and asked me if I would take a walk-on role in the show.”

Fassler played the role of Motel in that 1976 production.

According to Fassler, “after working professionally for over 35 years, it’s thrilling to return to my roots. Nothing has brought me more joy as those three years I spent at PBT. It is the perfect place to work with passionate people to develop and practice stage skills – all in and idyllic setting.”
