While it seems odd to see the name, we haven’t skipped any generation in Samsung’s compact folding phones. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 comes to us as the second generation of this type of smartphone, succeeding the original Flip, and the reason is very simple: the name of the Flip is assimilated to that of the Fold, and now it continues from the hand of the Fold3.

The new phone follows the format of the previous model, with a screen that folds down on its narrowest side to go from a phone that’s 166 millimeters high to one that’s just 86.4 millimeters tall. A Galaxy Z Flip3 suitable for even more pockets than the previous generation by subtracting a little from the previous size. But the Flip3 is more than a screen, it is also a top of the range with all the laws.

More powerful, stronger, more foldable

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 from the Korean firm arrives, showing that the format of the first model could be improved. So, Samsung makes it slightly more compact by subtracting the size from both its width and length, both folded and unfolded. The phone retains its weight of 183 grams although in the new configuration we find 10% stronger aluminum.

The main screen gets brighter and more durable, and the external screen gets more functionality

The main screen, the interior which is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and folds up with the closure, is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED with an extra-long 22: 9 aspect ratio. The resolution is FullHD. + and reaches 2,640 x 1,080 pixels with 425 pixels per inch of density. In addition, we have a panel with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, so all games are welcome.

On the outside of the phone is the second screen, a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 260 x 512 pixels that gains functionality with the update. Now we have a vibrate mode, brightness control, the ability to interact with notifications and we can even place widgets there. At the heart of the phone, a 3300 mAh fast-charging battery not specified by the brand.

In cameras we have 10 megapixels located in a hole made on the internal screen, a camera with an f / 2.4 lens and an 80 degree field of view. On the outside of the phone we find a 12-megapixel dual camera, one with an f / 1.8 angle lens and optical stabilization and another with an f / 2.2 super wide-angle lens and a field of vision of 123º.

Power to spare and 120 Hz screen to play whatever we want from our folding pocket

We come to the brain and here we have a Snapdragon 888 supported by 8 GB of RAM and two internal memory options: 128 GB and 256 GB. The phone offers a 5G SA / NSA port, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC. and USB Type C. In addition, this Galaxy Z Flip3 is protected against dust and water with IP68 and comes with the built-in fingerprint reader on the side, so that we can use it both open and folded. The mobile hits the market with Android 11 running One UI 3.1.
